A Good Ending

Outback. You're hilarious! I'm kind of a fan myself but J's not, so we never go there. So glad you had a good weekend with W and ended it in such a relaxed manner. I didn't think you'd get home until tonight but this is much less stressful, I'm sure.

We also had a great weekend away, with too much to drink all the way through. Our weather wasn't stellar but we did get a few sunny hours by the pool on Saturday. The boys had a blast with the quads and dirtbikes. H & D (the couple with whom we stayed) live on 3+ acres of land - one acre is the homestead, one is the pool and pool house and barbecue area, the third is an open field that they have partially converted into a riding track, complete with jumps and twists and turns through the woods. The kids loved it...especially since between all the quad owners, there were enough vehicles for everyone at all times, including my boys. Of course, JJ was happy enough to be in the pool 24/7, so he wouldn't have minded much either way. H&D have a group of friends we have met before and all of them came over Saturday night. We barbecued fajitas and drank some kind of Cosmo concoction until 12:30 - that's when I quit. Others stayed up and moved onto a neighbor's house to play drinking games until, I hear, 2 in the morning.

We got home yesterday at a decent hour. I then put together a little cocktail party for Kim's deal signing ($80K with Harper Collins for a two book deal). We had about 1o people over and it turned out to be a very fun evening. It was a great way to wind down the weekend. Today, a little housework, some school shopping, haircuts...it's almost time for dinner and getting everyone settled down and ready to face the school year.

Tomorrow when the kids get on the bus I'm supposed to hit the gym with K, but then I have THE WHOLE DAY TO MYSELF, so I'll try to sit down and write some. Hope you have a good day yourself,
Love,
A
