I also honored myself by planning a "lab" this week that does not require test tubes and chemicals. I desperately needed a break from prep and clean up, from walking around lab tables babysitting(lest someone should decide that a roll of masking tape makes a good projectile), and answering questions that reflect laziness, not lack of understanding. "What are we supposed to do now?" Well, do you have your lab handout? The one I spent time writing and photocopying, and reviewing with you!?!?!?! The first hour we will be in the computer lab, and kids will be going to different web sites to read about enzymes and view animations. The second hour they will come back here and do a cut and paste to reinforce the lock and key concept. You want to stab yourselves with those scissors? Have at it. I'm kidding, of course. I think.
It's beautiful here, low 60s and feeling like fall. Tomorrow we go back to low 70s however, so the feeling of fall is fleeting I'm afraid. Still, I'll take 70. It's cool enough to get in sweats and relax after school. Which is my plan.
Hope you're having a good day.
