Early Dismissal

Hi there.

Around 1;30, just when I'm usually looking for a cup of chai tea to get me through the rest of the day, I was walking into my house for the day with a new hamper and a couple of new gadgets from B3 (Bed, Bath and Beyond)(I miss Linens n Things). I figured it was only right that I have some sort of alternative beverage, so I used my new cocktail shaker for an iced coffee cocktail that was just delish. (Thanks again!) After that I actually lay down on the couch and almost fell asleep, but not quite. Instead I was kind of in and out while I half-watched Ellen, then Oprah. There went my afternoon. No complaints here.

Originally I thought I might write when I got home and make pizza for dinner, but it's already 6:30 and I'm still full from snacking earlier (I don't understand why there have to be pretzels in Chex mix---what a waste), and not into making, then cleaning, a mess tonight. So I'll just stay in relaxed mode instead. Maybe I'll finish watching The Pursuit of Happyness, which S and I started and I turned off when I realized it wasn't fun enough for a girls' sleepover. Of course there's a bit of political news I'd like to catch up on (Ted Daschle's fall from grace) too...so maybe I can watch that movie while eating pizza tomorrow night. So many decisions, so few obligations to require me to commit.

As for yesterday: it was a good day. My grades were done and that was half the battle, then my hair came out great, and dinner with C was excellent. We ended up going out for a drink after our Thai dinner and that, too, was excellent, at a new restaurant I'd like to try for dinner some time. The new liquor store was nice, and prices were comparable for wine but not great for alcohol, so later this week I'll go to my regular place just 10 miles up the road and over the border. Since I have a little "extra" cash, I figure I'll get my liquor cabinet stocked. I usually do it twice a year--with my balloon check just before summer, and again before the holidays, but I didn't have that luxury this past Christmas. Maybe that will be my Thursday night excursion: grown-up grocery shopping. Or something like that. lol (booze bag)

I take it your girls' day was good too...can't wait to hear more about it.

xo,
B
